Edition Peters USA Announces Distribution Deal with Alfred
2023 is the 75th anniversary of Edition Peters USA, founded by Walter Hinrichsen as C.F. Peters Corporation in 1948. As we prepare for this significant anniversary and look forward to our next 75 years, Edition Peters USA has decided to focus on the considerable opportunities from its unique publishing, print and rights business in the American market. A necessary step on this pathway is for Edition Peters USA to reorganize the sales distribution of its own catalogues, and to cease distribution for a number of third-parties.
Edition Peters USA is therefore delighted to announce that it has signed a physical and digital distribution deal with Alfred Music and MakeMusic.
From April 1st, 2022, the physical inventory of Edition Peters and associated catalogs it represents world-wide will be exclusively distributed by Alfred Music in North, Central and South America, jointly with Edition Peters EU in Japan. As part of the deal, Edition Peters' educational catalog will also be available for digital subscription, through an exclusive, world-wide agreement on SmartMusic
, the global educational digital subscription platform from MakeMusic.
Kathryn Knight, President of Edition Peters USA, said: We are thrilled to be working with the great team at Alfred Music. Both Alfred Music and Edition Peters were founded as family businesses with a commitment to making the very best music available and accessible to all, from amateurs and students to professional musicians. We look forward to growing our sheet music business in both physical and digital form for the US market in partnership with them.
Johann Gouws, SVP of Alfred Music and MakeMusic, said: The addition of this respected and historic catalog is a natural fit across all of our product offerings. We're proud to be their distributor as Edition Peters USA prepares for its 75th anniversary in 2023 and looks to build its catalog offering for the US market.
These are exciting developments for Edition Peters as we look forwards. However, we must also convey our thanks and gratitude to our warehouse team led with such commitment by Richie Anichiarico, an employee of C.F. Peters Corporation since 1966 and appointed by Walter Hinrichsen himself.
