Mivos Quartet and Amber Evans Announced as 2019 Winners

Tomorrow, the Mivos Quartet and Soprano Amber Evans will be awarded the inaugural Mamlok Prize and Mamlok Advancement Award. In addition to the award, the Mivos Quartet and Evans will perform a concert on Monday May 20th at the Marc Scorca Hall at the National Opera Center in Manhattan.


On the program will be two of Mamlok’s compositions Stray Birds and String Quartet No. 1 and will include pieces by composers that Mamlok championed during her life. The concert will include a viewing of a short film by Anne Berrini which depicts Mamlok’s later years as she reestablished herself as an active composer until her death in 2016. More of Mamlok's music will be performed in Brooklyn, New York on June 10th at the Roulette Intermedium. Join the International Contemporary Ensemble for an evening of music by Mamlok, Natasha Anderson and Felipe Lara. Tickets and information can be found at the ICE website.
