Amram: Greenwich Village Portraits Orchestral Version

World Premiere by 31 saxophonists
The orchestral version of David Amram's Greenwich Village Portraits will premiere this Sunday, February 25th with all 31 saxophonists performing it at different locations. The original version for Alto Saxophone and Piano premiered in 2014 and since then 31 saxophonists commissioned an orchestral version. Kenneth Radnofsky, who premiered the original Greenwich Village Portraits, will perform the new version during an Amram appreciation concert. Saxophonist Russ Graizer spent some time with writer Christopher Hislop discussing the piece and Amram (you can read it here.)
