Bang On A Can: Music Among Friends

Museum of Modern Art explores Rauschenberg and the New York School
In conjunction with their Robert Rauschenberg: Among Friends exhibit, MoMA will present a two day concert event with pieces by Wolff, Cage and Feldman performed by members of Bang on a Can. May 23rd evening event had performances of Christian Wolff’s Suite (I) for Prepared Piano (1954) and Exercises 29 and 30 (2011) and Morton Feldman’s Ixion (1958, rev. 1962) as well as commentary by Christian Wolff and David Lang. Tonight (May 24th) will explore John Cage and David Tudor’s collaborations with Rauschenberg and will include performances of Atlas Eclipticalis (1961) and 4’33”.
