Da Capo Chamber Ensemble

Group honors the late Laura Flax
On May 1st at the Merkin Concert Hall in New York City, the da Capo Chamber Ensemble performed a programed entitled “Crossing the Musical Waters to Italy”. The concert was dedicated in memory of Laura Flax, the longtime clarinetist for the group who recently passed away in March. The program included three Peters works – one of them, Chester Biscardi’s Di Viver (1981), was written for da Capo and was premiered in 1981 by the group and Ms. Flax. The other two Peters works that were included were Daivd Rakowski’s Thickly Settled (2011) and Arlene Zallman’s Trio 1999 (Triquetra) (1999).
