NY Times reviews Dance Production
Last week at the Joyce Theater, the Compagnie CNDC-Angers directed by Robert Swinston performed a Cunningham-only program. Compagnie CNDC-Angers is the third French group to perform Cunningham’s pieces in New York this year and made the piece “Place” their focal work. Compagnie CNDC-Angers is also known for reviving “Place” in 2015 which had not seen a performance since 1971. “Inlets 2” and “How to Pass, Kick, Fall and Run” rounded out the show and were the two pieces that included John Cage’s compositions. Ms. Laura Kuhn, director of the John Cage Trust, was on hand to perform one of the conch parts for “Inlets” and to read stories from ʺIndeterminacyʺ. The performances were recently reviewed by the New York Times and can be seen here.
