Sister Carrie

Opera Premiere, Review and more
Sister Carrie received its world premiere last weekend on October 7th and 9th to positive reviews. The Journal Sentinel of Milwaukee credits the “compelling singers” of the Florentine Opera Company for the success of the premiere. Ms. Adriana Zabala received praise for her “beautifully sung performance” as Carrie and Mr. Keith Phares was “strikingly well matched” as Hurstwood. The Florentine Opera Chorus also received kudos for giving a “polished, convincing performance.” The full review can be found here on the Journal Sentinel’s website.

The next stop for the Florentine Opera Company and Sister Carrie will be a recital as part of the Emerging Artist Recital Series presented by the National Opera Center in New York City on November 3rd, 2016. fromSister Carrie and Elmer Gantry, an earlier opera by Aldridge and Garfein. The Florentine Opera Company’s recording of Elmer Gantry won two Grammies in 2011.
