The New York Philharmonic presents works by Anders Hillborg
April will be an exciting month for composer Anders Hillborg. On April 5th, 2013 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in a performance of Vaporized Tivoli as part of the CONTACT! new-music series. This program will also feature Gougalon, by Unsuk Chin, Backdraft by Yann Robin and oboe soloist Liang Wang performing Poul Ruders’s Oboe Concerto. This program will be repeated April 6th at Symphony Space. On Friday, April 26th at Carnegie Hall, the New York Philharmonic with guest star Renee Fleming will perform the world premiere of Hillborg’s Strand Settings. The concert will also include Respighi’s Fontane di Roma and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (orch. Ravel). Come early for an exclusive pre-concert talk with composer Anders Hillborg.
