Mario Davidovsky Composer Portrait

The Miller Theater will be doing a Composer Portrait of Mario Davidovsky on March 4, 2011.
The concert will feature seven works by the composer performed by the members of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE). Included on the program will be two of Mr. Davidovsky’s SYNCHRONISMS, numbers 9 and 12, which feature the pairing of electronic and live performance. He is considered to be a founding father of electro-acoustic music, and this aspect of his oeuvre will be represented by these two works for electronics and violin and electronics and clarinet respectively. The rest of the program is filled out with chamber works for conventional groups of instruments. It should all provide an excellent insight into the work of one of our living masters.
